Week 97: La Fe: Making plans to pick up Bailey

Okay dad, I’m going to put off writing you and respond to your questions. Thanks for the update on everything going on by the way. I love you all so much.

Okay Question 1: The colonial zone is in the east side and I have no idea how to get around on the east side. I would feel more comfortable looking for a hotel on the west side. I will look some stuff up.

Question 2: I think that it would be really fun to do more touristy stuff on Thursday. I’m fine not going to San Juan because I will visit it in about 2 P-days. What type of touristy stuff are you talking about?

Question 3: Okay, this is part of the reason why I want to stay on a hotel on the west side. I know how to get around the city super well. I know all the routes for busses and I can get us anywhere. The only thing is that public transportation is very uncomfortable, but also kind of fun at the same time! For example, each taxi car that runs a long a route fits 6 people not including the driver.... just so you know. I’m very used to it and its kind of fun, but mom might find it uncomfortable.

Also, on Wednesday I would like to go out to eat with some of my converts here in La Fe and a few members. Would that be possible? They recommended a very cool restaurant that I want to go to. We can take the metro to get there.

Week 96: La Fe: Holy Crap! You have a huge butt!

Hey Family,

So this week has kind of flown by. Well, all the weeks are flying by. I think I only have like 4 left... maybe yeah 4ish. I’m trying not to count, but it’s down to days now. Last night I had a dream about Thanksgiving!!! I’m super excited!
We have been having lots of success recently. The investigators that we do have been progressing and we have found a few new ones. I have one convert here in La Fe who is one of my favorites. Her name is E and we recently started teaching her daughter J. J is kind of shy, but a very nice person and actually has a lot of interest. Plus, I always like visiting E because she always gives us juice. Anyway things are going good.
I´m glad that Owen is out but at the same time very sad. I’m really going to miss that guy. Things will be very different when I go home. But I’m super excited to see you all. There was a funny experience this week where we took the fabric to a tailor to get my measurements taken and pay him so I could get my pants made. I was with a bunch of other missionaries when I got my measurements taken and they first took my waist measurements, which was like 30ish or something, and then he took the circumference of my butt and it was like 43ish. The other missionary said holly crap, you have a huge butt!!! It was super funny because the tailor was with his son who spoke English, so they understood.
Anyway hope you all have a fun week and I’ll talk to you all next week.

Love,

Elder Stark

Week 95: La Fe: Staying in La Fe to finish the mission

Hey Family,

That’s cool that you guys are spending a bunch of your last moments with Owen. I hope he is enjoying it. I remember how it is to leave home. It’s kind of lame. You feel super down about leaving and the change. I’m getting more and more excited to see you guys. But as I get more excited, the stress increases with all the stuff I have to do.
Funny story with rabbits I had an investigator that offered to cook me one of her rabbits! I loved, loved, loved general conference. My favorite talk by far was the one about mothers by Jeffery R Holland. It was the one that hit me the most. I love you lots mom!
For transfers, I’m staying here to finish my mission in La Fe. If you could bring maybe 2 oil vials, there are a few converts that wanted some metal ones, which they don’t sell here. I’m very excited to see you all and hope that you have a great week.

Week 94: La Fe: Trunky with 50 days left

Hey Family,

I am in a hurry today so this will be quick. I have a small problem wit h sending pictures right now. I got a really bad virus on my camera and I’m out of SD cards. So I am going to have to try to get them clean, but I don’t know how long that will take. I’ll do my best to get that figured out. But hey, mom thanks for telling me how many days I have left. Now I’m trunky. The house must seem pretty empty back home. Hopefully I can bring a little spice. I really miss Mary and Henry and am super excited to hang out with them. I can’t believe I’m that close you should try to think of things to do when I get home things we can do as a family! Oh, and could I get a bit more money on my card? I want to make some pants for when I get home.
